The technology

High-intensity magnetic stimulation

The StarFormer® generates a magnetic field that triggers deep, repeated contractions of the pelvic floor muscles, comparable to active muscle work — with no voluntary effort and no intravaginal device. You sit on the applicator, fully clothed; a session lasts 20 to 30 minutes.

Indications

Who is it for?

The indication and the program are determined by Dr Gatri at a prior consultation.

How it works

The protocol, step by step

  1. Prior consultation — checking the indication and any contraindications, written quotation.
  2. Six sessions over three weeks — two sessions a week, 20 to 30 minutes each; seated on the applicator, fully clothed; no anesthesia (anaesthesia), no downtime: you go straight back to your day.
  3. Follow-up — a review with the doctor at the end of the protocol.

Information

Aftercare and precautions

Pelvic floor rehabilitation by magnetic stimulation is carried out at the practice, fully clothed, without a probe. Here is how it goes and what to observe, as Dr Gatri explains it to you at the prior consultation.

Frequently asked questions

Your questions, our answers

How is this different from conventional pelvic floor rehabilitation?

Conventional rehabilitation uses a probe and requires voluntary muscle work. With the StarFormer you remain clothed and seated, and the magnetic field works the pelvic floor muscles deeply, with no contact and no effort.

Is it painful?

No. You feel the pelvic floor muscles contracting, as during exercise. There is no anesthesia, no pain and no downtime: you resume your activities right after the session.

How many sessions, and how often?

Six sessions spread over three weeks, two per week. Each session lasts 20 to 30 minutes.

Can the StarFormer help with endometriosis?

The practice offers magnetic stimulation to patients suffering from endometriosis-related pain, alongside the management of the condition. The indication is established by Dr Gatri at the consultation.

Are there any contraindications?

Certain situations rule out magnetic stimulation; they are checked at the prior consultation, which always precedes the first session.

Can I have a session while pregnant, with an IUD or with an implant?

Magnetic stimulation is set aside during pregnancy. A pacemaker, a metal implant or any other implanted device calls for advice before a session. At the prior consultation, tell Dr Gatri about a current pregnancy and about every device you carry, an IUD included: she checks each situation before the first session, as she does for the indication.

How long does the effect last?

The protocol consists of six sessions over three weeks, followed by a review with Dr Gatri at the end: she takes stock with you and tells you what the result calls for next. How long the effect lasts follows from your situation and from what led to the rehabilitation; Dr Gatri tells you herself. The effect is maintained: maintenance sessions are offered, at a rhythm set with her.
