Consultations

Five areas of practice

The practice provides comprehensive gynaecological and obstetric care — consultations at the practice and, for surgery, in clinic. Click a treatment to display its explanation; where available, an official information sheet (in French) can be viewed on the website of the French College of Gynaecologists and Obstetricians (CNGOF).

01 · Medical gynaecology

Routine gynaecological care

Follow-up consultations, screening and prevention, at every stage of life.

Pelvic examination

Clinical examination assessing the pelvic organs: uterus, ovaries and vulva.

Cervical smear test

Screening sample to detect abnormal cells of the cervix that could lead to cancer. Often combined with HPV testing.

Information sheet
Pelvic ultrasound

Imaging of the uterus, ovaries and pelvic structures, performed at the practice on the GE Voluson™ Expert 22 ultrasound system during the consultation itself. Images are displayed on the room's 65-inch screen and the result is explained to you immediately.

Cervical biopsy

Removal of a small tissue sample from the cervix for analysis.

Colposcopy

Examination of the cervix offered after an abnormal smear test or for HPV monitoring. The practice is equipped with the DYSIS Ultra digital colposcope, which assists the physician with real-time mapping of the cervix and keeps visual documentation of the examination. It is generally well tolerated and performed during the consultation; if a biopsy is needed, it is taken at the same time.

Treatment of cervical dysplasia

Laser vaporisation of precancerous cervical lesions identified during colposcopy. The procedure is performed at the practice, under colposcopic guidance, without hospitalisation. A follow-up consultation is scheduled to check healing and organise surveillance.

Treatment of vulvar lesions

Laser vaporisation of vulvar lesions, particularly genital warts (condylomas). Treatment is performed at the practice, during consultation, using the Fotona laser; the number of sessions depends on the extent of the lesions.

Contraceptive counselling

Information on the various contraceptive methods and help choosing the one that suits you.

IUD / implant insertion and removal

Insertion and removal of IUDs or subcutaneous contraceptive implants, at the practice.
